International Center for Captive Insurance Education

January 23, 2008

Burlington, VT - The International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE) ended 2007 with a flurry of activity, a healthy year-end bottom line, and another strong group of students completing its Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) professional designation.

Budgeted to end 2007 slightly in the black after only its third full year of operations, ICCIE closed the year better than projected, thanks to continued strong student enrollment and financial support from the industry.  By year-end, ICCIE had recorded nearly 400 ICCIE student enrollments, with about half of those students committed to the complete ACI designation program.

With representation and presentations at captive insurance conferences in Washington D.C. (CIC-DC), Chicago (ASHRM), Hawaii (HCIC), Arizona (World Captive Forum), Nevada (NCIA), Cayman (IMAC), and S. Carolina (SCCIA), ICCIE received strong visibility and attention throughout the last quarter of the year. Xina Stewart Image

Additionally, at the S. Carolina conference in December, ICCIE hosted its Annual Celebration Event, during which Comerica's Xina Stewart was awarded her ACI.  Thanks to event sponsors Johnson Lambert and Skyview Loss Prevention Services for their support of the occasion.

Another ACI recipient during the quarter was Dana Sheppard, Associate Commissioner for the Risk Finance Bureau of Washington, D.C.  While there are many regulators who have enrolled in ICCIE, Dana is the first to complete the program.

Tammy Backenstoe (MaternOhio Management, Inc.)

Daniel Kugler (Snap-on Inc)
