Bermuda Insurance Management Association ACI Scholarship
In preparation for the upcoming 2010 Bermuda Captive Conference (BCC), the Bermuda Insurance Management Association (BIMA), in conjunction with the BCC organizing committee, are once again pleased to invite Bermudians to apply for one of 2 ICCIE Scholarship Awards for the Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) professional designation.
The ACI professional designation provides an educational standard for professionals in the captive insurance industry and is evidence of an individual’s commitment to and knowledge of the captive industry.
The successful candidate will receive a $4,350 bursary to cover the cost of tuition fees and course materials over the study period. For detailed course descriptions and a schedule of how and when the on-line courses are offered, see the ICCIE website www.iccie.org
Applicants should be either currently working in the captive industry or be strongly considering a long term career in the industry. Applicants should submit the following:
- A covering letter indicating their career intentions and why they feel they deserve the award
- A current resume including other extra-curricular activities and achievements
Following an initial assessment, a shortlist of candidates will be invited for an interview. Two individuals will then be awarded this significant opportunity to build a professional career in the captive insurance industry.

Harry House Captive Insurance Scholarship
An award of one full scholarship per year for course work leading to an Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) designation. The Harry House Scholarship is sponsored by Housing Authority Insurance (HAI) Group of Cheshire, Connecticut.
The scholarship is reserved for a minority student enrolled in a Risk Management Program at an accredited college or university. The recipient will be chosen based on scholastic excellence and good standing in the university community.
The recipient will be permitted to attend all required courses, in person or on-line, free of charge as long as he/she passes each course.
HAI Group President and CEO Dan Labrie is very pleased about the opportunity this scholarship will offer to candidates who might otherwise not be able to participate in the ICCIE program.
“The dedication of this scholarship represents Harry House’s commitment to the captive insurance industry,” Labrie said. “It provides a means for professionals seeking education and development to better serve the customers of the industry.”

ICCIE will announce the recipient of the award in August 2010 during VCIA's Annual Conference.
VCIA Distinguished Scholar Award
In recognition of VCIA’s leadership and financial support in excess of $100,000, ICCIE has announced the formation of the Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) Distinguished Scholar Award.
ICCIE will be awarding one full scholarship per year to a member of VCIA, beginning in August 2007. A panel of three industry participants will be appointed by ICCIE to review the applications and make the selection. The recipient will be permitted to attend all required courses, in person or on-line, free of charge.
There are three qualifications that the successful applicant must have. The applicant must:
1) Be employed by a member company of VCIA;
2) Provide two letters of reference citing his/her achievements in, or commitment to, the captive insurance profession; and
3) Cite evidence of involvement in his/her community.
